Big Panda has designed a brand identity for VIDA that launched the development and helps convey what it does. The project encompasses brand strategy and messaging, iconography, promotional materials, packaging and livery, environmental graphics, website and digital applications, and a brand animation.

VIDA is a sustainably minded residential development that returns guests and owners to a life well-lived, a life outdoors. The ethos of the team behind VIDA is pioneering the sector in Cayman, bringing the experiences and ecological principals together pledging to a sustainable and environmental focus.

Big Panda worked closely with the VIDA founders on the program. The first challenge for the creative team was to develop a brand story, a narrative of what VIDA is and what they believe in, to form the basis of the identity. The design approach links the elements of earth, wind, and water together, and the brand identity is inspired by the local topography and natural elements that are both unique and patterned, such as topographical lines, waveforms, and shapes reflective of wind power.

The VIDA icon evokes these sources with a central shell shape that also takes the form of kites linked together by sections of the topographical lines that enshrine the symbol. Other graphic elements embrace VIDA's contemporary, streamlined, and sustainable approach, using the visual language of nature as a starting point.

The typography balances simple functionality with elegance, combining neutral sans lettering with the serifs to convey both understated luxury and practicality. A limited color palette of black, gray, and sand appears in skewed shades that feel modern. The designers developed a pattern of topography lines that form the graphic foundations of every element of the brand

The VIDA website is a comprehensive resource with a clean, clear, and accessible design that highlights the services and experiences on offer at VIDA. Film and video are used to give scale and context to the project. The Big Panda team also created a brand animation that illustrates the design and ecological principles that bring the identity to life.
