Brand Identity & Marketing Strategy

Brand identity and marketing strategy for Cayman's real estate regulatory body with a mission to raise professional ethics, integrity, and excellence of practice.

CIREBA is the regulatory body for the real estate profession in the Cayman Islands. It serves its members by advancing professional ethics, integrity, and excellence of practice for the betterment of the sector, the community, and the economy.

It was the 11 founding codes of ethics that each CIREBA member is bound by that drove Big Panda’s approach to CIREBA’s new brand language.

The Big Panda team worked closely with CIREBA's board and its members. Through a series of brand workshops and broad perception studies, Big Panda was able to develop its brand position and statement ‘The Mark of Excellence in Real Estate'.

The design team translated CIREBA's core values of ethics, integrity, and excellence of practice into 11 map pins each one representing the eleven codes of ethics. Collectively they form a starburst, a unique and recognisable seal, symbolic of the designations positioning as the mark of excellence in real estate.

The symbol is accompanied by a bright palette of oranges, blues and purples, alongside a selection of more muted soft greys which provide contrast. The palette is used extensively throughout the various pieces of communication, and also improves functionality across all of CIREBA's digital products, principally the Multiple Listing System managed by CIREBA.

Juraj Chrastina's font 'Gentleman' has been used throughout to provide clarity and legibility across all of the brand communications. The generous x-height of Gentleman constants throughout the family increasing the legibility and allowing for a low-contrast construction even for thicker weights. While the sans-serif simplicity lends a modern feel.

The identity has been applied to marketing materials, social channels, and the CIREBA website — it will also be adapted to event and promotional material to bring a unified brand experience. As well as showcasing the Multiple Listing System, the website also hosts sections on CIREBA's mission statement and vision for the future and features a blog with ongoing resources and industry insights.

To support the brand launch Big Panda developed an omnichannel campaign. The first wave of activity introduced the new visual language and established the new brand mark and positioning 'The Mark of Excellence in Real Estate' in the hearts and minds of both its members and the wider community. While the second wave of activity helped raise awareness of CIREBA's strategic value through an ongoing series of educational messaging, and useful tips for buyers, sellers, and investors.

CIREBA's Treasurer and Marketing Lead, Trace Moore comments: “This rebrand of CIREBA represents a significant step in the organisation's evolution and our aspiration to advance the membership in the areas of ethics, integrity, and excellence of practice. While we’ve always been well known for regulatory governance and industry knowledge, this new brand better encompasses this and is much more appropriate for the next step of the CIREBA journey”.
